Pampers Premium Protection Active Fit #SagGoneGrooveon – Review

For the last seven years, I’ve been a Pampers mum.  We have tried all sorts of brands and styles of nappies on our three children but in the end we always go back to our tried and tested Pampers.

All three children used the Pampers New Baby before moving onto a combination of Pampers Active Fit or Pampers Baby Dry.  We probably use Baby Dry the majority of the time just because they’re that bit cheaper and of course nobody can deny that cost is always going to be a factor when it comes to these things.

Over the last few weeks Amy has been trying out the latest Pampers Premium Protection Active Fit.  The first thing that struck me on opening the packet was just how thin the nappies were.  Like really thin.  So much so that I wasn’t really convinced that they were going to work.  I’m sure you won’t be surprised to know that I was wrong.

Amy has loved her new nappies so much that the first time we put something else on her, she took it off and insisted she wanted one of her new nappies on!  Luckily disaster was averted and I got a new nappy on her before she ruined our carpets and thankfully, we’ve not had any similar incidents since!

Aside from generally being less bulky than your average nappy the Pampers Premium Protection Active Fit feature “magic pods” which allow the liquid to be absorbed more evenly across the nappy thus eliminating that awful nappy sag!  Nobody wants a bulky nappy hanging between their legs and stopping them from getting on with their fun do they! (And it does look pretty unsightly when you’re wearing leggings!)

We’ve made a video to demonstrate how the magic pods work and also how much fun Bo had whilst wearing them (she basically runs everywhere which is a fair representation of how she lives her life!)

The only downside to this super nappies and their “Magic Pods” is that the standard “bum pat” check to see if a nappy needs changing, isn’t quite so effective any more!  We’re definitely going to be sticking to the new Active Fit of daytime wear over the coming months!

Great to hear how you got on. Commenting for myself and on behalf of BritMums and thanking you for taking part.

I tried other brands but always went back to Pampers. I do think that it depends on the shape of the child though, I have a friend who can't get on with Pampers at all!

Wow, that sounds brilliant – even if the bum pat doesn't work quite so well. We're almost out of nappies but they really do vary in how well they work.

  4. March 8, 2016 / 8:22 am

I have to admit I've never got along with pampers nappies, just never agreed with my children for some reason, like the fact that these aren't so bulky though! #triedtested

We've been impressed with these too. Particularly like how thin they are and they definitely don't sag – being the thorough tester I am, even after 5 hours and 1 crap, they still remained sagless!

These sound really good, saggy nappy really isn't a great look! We tend to just buy supermarket brands as they work fine for my boy but would definitely buy pampers if they were a bit cheaper.x #TriedTested

Interesting that they're so thin, sounds like a nice change from the ordinary. Might give these a go if we spot them on offer anywhere but we're awfully tempted by the supermarket brands which are a fraction of the price!

These have come on so far since my day and all for the better it seams #TriedTested

These look great! I used to hate saggy nappies too so good to know these are now available for children. I have literally just potty trained my youngest so no more nappies for me!! Woo hoo #TriedTested

It's interesting to hear how you got on…These sound great 😀

I'm past needing pampers for my three daughters but always used this brand over the years. I always noticed that the shop-named brands were cheaper but never had the courage to try them! #TriedTested

We're a Pampers family too, but haven't tried these ones yet. I'll give them a go the next time we run out … they sound great. Thanks for hosting #triedtested

These sound great, especially being thin and no nappy sag! Unfortunately Pampers give my 2 nappy rash, I have no idea why but it happened with my eldest years ago and again now with my youngest! #TriedTested

  14. March 8, 2016 / 12:16 pm

So flimsy! Crazy how they work so well, I use cloth nappies so hugely bulky especially at night.

  15. March 8, 2016 / 12:39 pm

I tried these recently (not for my blog though) and I really didn't like them. I actually thought they sagged worse than any nappies we've used – even my husband, who doesn't normally pay attention to these things made a comment on it. By the sounds of it, I'm the only one who doesn't like them though! x

  16. March 8, 2016 / 1:03 pm

the no sag sounds great – but like say, you can't check for a sag to see if it needs changing – not a bad thing though! #triedtested

  17. March 8, 2016 / 1:51 pm

I found Pampers Baby Dry were the only nappies to keep my two dry throughout the whole night. I love the idea of no sag!

  18. March 8, 2016 / 2:14 pm

That's really interesting – I had some issues with the Pampers Baby Dry recently so might switch #TriedTested

We are a Pampers family as well, always Active Fit in the day and Baby Dry at night, it's great to know a bit about how they work, but they've always worked for us so I just don't question it!

  20. March 8, 2016 / 6:09 pm

I was always a Pampers Mum when Miss A was a baby. Tried so many different brands and always went back to Pampers

  21. March 8, 2016 / 8:10 pm

We're Huggies and ASDA in this household…I don't think we've ever tried Pampers…I think they've always worked out too expensive. Sounds like you got on well with them though xx #TriedTested

I have to say Pampers were always the best for us! #TriedTested

Amy is just too cute. We love the Pampers Active Fit too, and have found them to be perfect at staying in place and keeping Eliza dry now she is on the move! #TriedTested

I was just looking at an advert for the and wondering if they are as good as they say. Glad to hear they are! Xx

  25. March 9, 2016 / 5:22 pm

Great vlog! We tested these out too and I was amazed at not only how thin the nappies are but how much liquid they hold #triedtested

  26. March 9, 2016 / 10:31 pm

We tried a variety of brands but always came back to Pampers! #triedtested

  27. March 9, 2016 / 10:41 pm

Wow, they look brilliant! We didn't use pampers much when mine were little, we tended to go for supermarket nappies instead, but all nappies we ever used had that sag. I think if we had another baby I'd be trying these for sure! Love the youtube video too x

  28. March 10, 2016 / 2:00 pm

We were a Pampers family for the most part. They really do look nice and thin. #TriedTested

  29. March 10, 2016 / 8:05 pm

Both of mine where in Tesco's own nappies as soon as they got to about 1 year old. Pampers just didn't work of either of them! I'm sure pampers have come along way over the last few years and are different now though! #triedandtested

  30. March 10, 2016 / 11:31 pm

We were pampers all the way as well. They were the only nappies that didn't leak for N, until he was nearing potty training then some OL brands were ok – but just so bulky compared to the activefit.

  31. March 13, 2016 / 11:06 am

We LOVE Pampers in our house, it's all i've ever used on the boys. I'm a massive fan of the baby-dry pants too.
    Awesome video too 🙂 x

They are fab aren't they! I just loved them – I was so surprised to see how quickly they soak up lots of water!

We didnt use anything else once Monkey got past the new born stage (I liked the cut out bit for the cord on the huggies) and as soon as he was moving we changed to the Active Fit, Great review love the video. Thank you for hosting #TriedTested
