Siblings – December 2017

Last Updated on 4 February 2020 by Colette

I can hardly believe this is the last Siblings post of the year.  This time last year, I wrote about how close my little gang were and about how they would almost always choose to be in one another’s company.  Twelve months later and nine times out of ten I would say that’s still the case.  There’s definitely more bickering now than there was a year ago – mainly Ben and Chloe.  I think she’s less keen to let him have his own way and pushes back against him which means he then shouts at her in an attempt to assert his supposed authority.  They would both happily tell you that they don’t like each other but it’s not true really.

On the whole they do all really love each other, and they do play really nicely together but I can increasingly see how things might look in another few years when I have a house full of tweens.  I’ve always said that we are really lucky with how well the kids get on but that I know it’s unlikely to last.  I know that at some point they will probably go through a phase of basically hating each other – they will bicker, pick fights and hurt each other – but hopefully they’ll still love each other through that and I will hold onto these days where they were the best of friends!

And of course as the end of the year approaches, it’s only right to look back at a year of Siblings photos:

  1. Oh this is my favorite month looking back at all the photos this year of how the kids grown and changed. It’s why I love this project so much. Your three have definitely matured in their looks so much wow! Happy Holidays. #siblingsproject

  2. It’s so lovely how they change within a year. Even the bigger kids. You wouldn’t think they would but I can see it in your biggest. Nice shots.
