Unusually it actually feels like a really long time since I wrote my last Siblings post, I think probably by virtue of having been on holiday to France!
Our little gang were absolute heroes on our holiday to France – taking the long car journeys in their stride! I had fully expected that there might be some bickering but they just got on with it – they chatted, snoozed, played on their tablets and occasionally moaned that they needed a wee or to stretch their legs but my nerves were unnecessary.
Whilst we were away they just got on really well, yes they annoyed each other a bit but mostly they loved being in each other’s company.
In true sibling style, Amy managed to give Ben an impressive black eye on our very first night by leaping into the pool at him and catching his face with her chin! It was an absolute corker but I think she was more upset than he was in the end!
Since we’ve got home, the usual bickering and frustrations have settled in and the volume level in our house is often to be found set to “ridiculous”. The irony of me shouting at the kids not to shout at each other isn’t lost on me.
Now that we are full throttle into the last half term of the school year, I’m starting to make plans for the school holidays which means booking in some childcare and arranging days out with friends. I usually try to book one day a week of childcare through the holidays as it gives me a chance to work but also gives the kids a break from each other (and me!). At present, Amy still goes to her childminder whilst the other two go to an after school club. I have made sure that I’ve booked the girls in for a day with the childminder together though as Chloe still misses her “Ange Days” and it means that Ben and I can have a day just the two of us, something we haven’t done since last summer so it’s long over due! Amy has got her Mummy & Bo Day booked in at the start of the holidays and I think Chloe will probably have hers in September as she likes a shopping day with Granny & Aunty Nic!
So, by the time I write my next Siblings post the school year will be all but done . . .
Gosh I can’t believe the next time we do siblings the school year will nearly be over! We’re planning our summer holidays too, I can’t wait!
The year seems to have gone so fast doesn’t it!
Haha, I’m often found shouting at my girls to stop shouting! These photos are lovely and what a lovely idea to have mummy days for each of them xx
They love their Mummy Day and get so excited for it – esp as I try to let them each plan what they’d like to do (within reason!)
Your holiday looked fabulous and it’s so re-connecting for everyone. That was quite a shiner!

Ah it looks like such a fab time and glad your nerves were unfounded. Although shouting dont shout made me laugh as I often find myself doing the same or shouting ‘don’t shout me from another room use your legs’ whilst in another room!!!
Hooray it’s almost summer time. Can’t wait. Your middle one is sure getting so tall they all look so happy toes in the sand. I am desperate for a beach holiday have to wait until January when we go to Mexico. eeek #siblingsproject
