How things have changed since my October Siblings post! A month ago I wrote about how we were doing the best we could to get out in the fresh air together as much as possible and that we were really missing our wider friends and family. This much is still true. We are all desperately missing interaction with people outside of our four walls, more so now that we are back in Lockdown and can’t even meet up within the rule of six – not that this really benefited us much but it did mean we managed to see Uncle Will during the half term holiday!
We reach the middle of November with one child in isolation and a consistently poor weather forecast combined with more screen time than anyone would usually deem acceptable. But this isn’t usual is it? And so Minecraft, Among Us and hours of TV have become staples in our family home. We are doing what can to get by.
The kids are mostly getting on well – the arguing tends to be over things that have been stolen or exploded in Minecraft or someone (usually Ben) trying to take control of the game or TV channels. I’ve never been more grateful for the kids having their own living room so that I don’t have to listen to this at full volume – though occasionally I reach my limit, turn the TV off and send them upstairs!
Who knows how things will look in another month!
