This super simple pumpkin plate Halloween craft activity is great for little ones of Amy’s age to do with a little support or older children like Ben and Chloe to take on independently – and decidedly less muddy than going pumpkin picking!
To make your halloween pumpkin plate, you will need:
Paper plate (and orange paint if it’s not already coloured like ours)
Black felt or craft foam (or you could even use black marker pen)
How to make a paper plate pumpkin:
1. If your plate isn’t already orange then give it a good coating of orange paint (you could mix a little PVA into your poster paint to give it an extra shine if you wanted to.
2. Cut shapes for the eyes / mouth from the black felt or craft foam (or draw the shapes on if you’re using marker pen.
3. Lay the shapes out on the plate till you’re happy with the positioning then glue them into place (We used Bostik Blu Stick which means you can see quite clearly where you’ve applied the glue but it dries clear in the end!)
4. Glue a loop of green ribbon to the back of the plate for hanging (and to look like a stalk) – I used Bostik Glu Dots
5. Display your pumpkin!
