I had hoped that there would be no need to update this post for 2026, however having seen the cancellation of another UK festival this summer, I decided it would be helpful to create an “at a glance” list of festival cancellations for 2026.

Are festivals cancelled for 2026?
Absolutely not but they are really struggling! There are countless festivals planning on going ahead in the UK this summer starting with around 13 festivals taking place in June (this is considerably less than in the past when it would be closer to 30), another 40 or so festivals in July plus a whole range of family friendly festivals, festivals over August bank holiday and even some festivals in September.
The lack of support and insurance for the industry meant that many events struggled to hang on “just in case” through Covid restrictions but August bank holiday 2021 saw plenty of festivals go ahead and with all restrictions lifted in the UK and the festival season of 2022 looked far more hopeful. What this did mean was that there was a big of an influx of events and a lot of enthusiasm from punters keen to make up for lost time. This put a lot of pressure on resources – the cost of hosting events soared whilst simultaneously the cost of living crisis took hold which meant quite a lot of events that simply didn’t return in 2023 and after over 40 cancellations in 2024 and a further 40+ cancellations in 2025, I fear we will see further festival cancellations in 2026.
2025 saw lots of festivals either cancelled or announcing that their 2025 festival would be their final event – the industry is shrinking fast and is absolutely at a stage of “use it of lose it”

I have listed cancelled and postponed events in alphabetical order to make this list as easy as possible to navigate.
Of course I will keep this post as up to date as possible but do check with individual events for the most up to date information on festivals in 2026!

Festival refunds
You will notice as you read through the cancellation information that whilst all the events are happy to provide refunds as required, they all hope that you will be in a position to support the festival long-term by rolling over your tickets to the coming year. The financial impact of cancelling events like this at such short notice is huge and could easily crush smaller festivals in the future – of course there is an element of risk for you financially doing this as you may be pinning your hopes on a festival that won’t happen so I would only recommend doing this is you can afford to lose the cash.

Looking ahead to 2026, I’m tightly crossing my fingers for a shorter list of cancellations but having see the way the last couple of years have gone for the festival scene, I fear this list will continue to grow.
Black Deer Festival, Eridge Park, Kent | No event for 2026
Black Deer Festival was postponed in 2025 and planned to return for 2026 however there have been no further updates and a smaller BDF event was cancelled in October 2025.
Cliff Top Music Festival, Highcliffe, Dorset | CANCELLED
Cliff Top Music Festival has been cancelled after the organisers claimed “Ongoing pressures, objections and lack of positive support – morally and financially – along with increasing prices for event infrastructure, has taken a toll on both our organisation and our volunteers.”

Cotswold Fest, South Cerney Airfield, Cirencester | No event for 2026
Cotswold Fest has been postponed until 2027 with no further details announced.
Godiva Festival, Coventry | No event for 2026
Godiva Festival will take a fallow year in 2026 to work out how to keep it affordable for its local community, highlighting the struggle of festival promoters who cannot simply pass on their increased costs to the customers via ticket prices.
Gone Wild Festival, Powderham Castle, Devon | Cancelled for 2026
2025 saw Gone Wild Festival celebrate its 5th birthday but it has been announced that there will be no Gone Wild Festival in 2026 – with a statement that simply states they are “taking a break”.
Gone Wild Festival Norfolk, Holkham Hall, Norfolk | No event for 2026
Gone Wild Festival Norfolk has been cancelled for 2026 after just a couple of events with the news that they are “taking a break”.
Hardwick Festival, Hardwick Hall, Co. Durham | No event 2026
Hardwick Festival have announced they are pressing pause and taking some time to see how the future looks for the event.

Highest Point Festival, Williamson Park, Lancaster | No event for 2026
It has been announced there will be no Highest Point Festival in 2026 thanks to rising costs. This event was last held in 2024 and currently seems unlikely to return.

Live at Leeds in the Park, Temple Newsam, Leeds | No event for 2026
There will be no Live at Leeds in the Park for 2026 after it was announced they would be taking the year off to ensure “best possible version of the festival for the future”.

Nocturne Live Festival, Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire | No event 2026
After ten years of Nocturne Live Festival at the Great Court of Blenheim Palace, Nocturne Live will not be retuning to the Palace in 2026.
Oceanfest, Croyde Bay, North Devon | No event for 2026
Oceanfest have announced that 2026 will be a fallow year with plans to return in 2027.
They explain that, “After 28 years of nurturing, this decision has not been taken lightly and we remain committed to ensuring the event continues to thrive for years to come. Plans are already being made for a strong return in June 2027, when Oceanfest will once again bring together the community, music, sport, and beach lifestyle that define the festival.”
One Out Festival, Apps Court, Surrey | No event for 2026
One Out Festival was last held in 2025 with no further updates. The website has now gone.
Portsmouth Chilli & Gin Festival | No event 2026
Portsmouth Chilli & Gin Festival appears to have quietly disappeared with no grand announcements, just a non-existent website and a defunct facebook page.
REYT FEST | CANCELLED
The organisers of REYT FEST have announced that the festival will no longer go ahead in June 2026 due to low ticket sales, which they believe are linked to the ongoing cost of living crisis. They thanked the bands, vendors, suppliers, stakeholders, supporters and everyone who purchased tickets for their support throughout the planning process. All ticket holders will receive refunds.

Solfest, North Lakes Country Park in Silloth, Cumbria – | CANCELLED
After more than 20 years as one of the UK’s most established family festivals, the organisers of Solfest have placed the company into liquidation and as such Solfest will not take place in 2026.

The Warwick Sessions, St Nicholas’ Park near Warwick Castle | No event 2026
Sadly this even appears to have been a one off with the website having been removed after the 2025 event.
Wireless Festival, Finsbury Park, London | CANCELLED
This one is a bit of a bonkers one with Wireless being forced to cancel the event after Kanye West (or “YE” as he’s apparently now called?) was refused entry to the country by the Home Office!
All tickets will be automatically refunded.
Festivals cancelled in 2025 included:
Another Fine Fest, Ulverston, Cumbria | No event for 2025
Another Fine Fest have announced they will extend the period in between events and as such there will be no Another Fine Fest in 2025. The event is set to return on 20th / 21st June 2026.
Barn on the Farm Festival, Over Farm, Gloucester | No event for 2025
Barn on the Farm will be taking a second gap year in 2025 but have high hopes of a future return.
Black Deer Festival, Eridge Park, Kent | No event for 2025
Black Deer Festival has been postponed and currently plans to return for 2026 – you can read the full statement here.
Bluedot, Jodrell Bank, Cheshire | No event for 2025
Bluedot Festival was cancelled for 2024 with organisers saying that the site needs a fallow year to recover and that they would return in summer 2025 – there have been no further updates so I think its safe to assume they do not plan to return for 2025.

The Cambridge Club Festival, Childerley Orchard | No event for 2025
After seven successful years, The Cambridge Club Festival is taking a breather and it is unclear as to whether it will return – you can read the full statement and sign up for updates here.
Cambridge Folk Festival | CANCELLED
Cambridge Folk Festival as been cancelled for 2025 – on what should have been in its 60th anniversary.
Organisers of Cambridge Folk Festival have said they plan to explore new opportunities ahead of the Cambridge Folk Festival’s return in 2026.
Customers who had purchased tickets for 2025 will be contacted directly.
Camp Bestival Shropshire, Weston Park | No event for 2025
The Camp Bestival team have announced that they will be pausing the Shropshire event for 2025 however Camp Bestival Dorset will still go ahead.
Campfire Country Festival, Liverpool | Cancelled
There seems to have been a lot of conversation, speculation and confusion around this event however event promoter NovoCo have shared the statement with the ECHO, which reads: “We’re heartbroken to share that the first edition of Campfire, originally planned for 2025, will no longer be going ahead.
Camp Quirky, Kelmarsh Estate, Northamptonshire | No event for 2025
Camp Quirky took a fallow year for summer 2024 explaining they would see how the land lies for the festival scene in 2025 but have since announced they will not be returning in 2025.
Come Together Festival, Newcastle Town Moor – Wednesday 4th / Thursday 5th / Friday 6th / Saturday 7th / Sunday 8th June 2025 | POSTPONED
Come Together Festival will be the largest outdoor music event the North East has seen, comprising of a series of concerts held on Newcastle’s Town Moor – set to take place at the start of June, this event has now been moved to August due to scheduling clashes.
Cranium Campout, Puddle Wharf Farm, Bromsgrove | No event for 2025
Cranium Campout 2024 was cancelled due to poor ticket sales – the website has now been taken down so I think it’s safe to say there will be no event in 2025
Dorset Seafood Festival, Weymouth | Cancelled for 2025
Organisers said they are unable to host the Dorset Seafood Festival in 2025 due to Dorset Council works at the Pavilion peninsula but they currently plan to bring the event back for 2026.
Goa Cream Festival, Yewtree Farm, Thornbury | Cancelled
South Gloucestershire have council refused to give permission Goa Cream festival to return for 2025 after complaints from local residents.
Highest Point Festival, Williamson Park, Lancaster | No event for 2025
There will be no Highest Point Festival in 2025 as they take a pause to reassess the costs etc of the event – they hope to return in 2026

Illusive Festival, Deene Park, Corby | No event in 2025
Illusive Festival celebrated their 10th and final year at Deene Park, Corby last year and will not return.

Into The Trees, Pippingford Park, East Sussex | No event for 2025
Into The Trees will not take place as a standalone event this September however, Into The Trees continues to be an important part of Elderflower Fields providing environmental, nature and arts-themed activities for families and children.

Jerk Jam, Southampton | No event for 2025
A spokesperson for Jerk Jam said: “For reasons out of our control and with a heavy heart, we are saddened to announce that Jerk Jam 2025 will no longer be taking place . . . With the increasing cost of infrastructure and services, the directors will struggle to cover the cost and time sacrificed by themselves and many others. We’ve considered further investment but the right people haven’t come along, and we don’t want to change our ethos”

Just So Festival, Rode Hall Estate, Cheshire | No event for 2025
After 14 years of events, Just So Festival have announced they will take a pause for 2025 whilst they take a breather and plan the future of this magical festival.
Kite Festival, Kirtlington Park, Oxford – No event for 2025
Although a save the date was announced for Kite Festival 2024, tickets never went on sale and a local news article has now confirmed there will be no Kite Festival in 2025.
Kubix Pop & Dance Festival, Herrington Country Park, Sunderland – CANCELLED
Kubix Festival has been cancelled with organizers citing recent developments making it impossible to proceed and advising attendees to seek refunds from ticket provider.
Lytham Festival – Wednesday 2nd July 2025 | CANCELLED
The first day of Lytham Festival has been cancelled after headline act Kings of Leon had to cancel their June and July commitments due to Caleb Followill sustaining a serious injury, shattering his heel and not being able to travel or perform for 8 weeks.
Ticket holders will receive an email with information about a full refund of tickets purchased for the 2nd July (including upgrades, transport and car parking). All 5-Day Passes will now automatically become a 4-Day Pass and the difference in price automatically refunded.
All further Lytham Festival dates will go ahead as planned.
Noisily Festival, Barkestone Wood, Leicester | CANCELLED
There has been no official announcement from Noisily themselves however as of the middle of April, Ticketmaster and Skiddle have withdrawn tickets from sale and automatically refunded them. As such, it is unclear whether this is the end of Noisily or just a pause for breath.
Northern Kin Festival, Thornley Hall Farm, Durham | CANCELLED
The 2025 event was cancelled after the parent company entered liquidation with ticket holders asked to contact their card companies for refunds.
Oak Fest, Accrington | Cancelled
Oak Fest, Accrington has been cancelled due to a lack of funding | Lancashire Telegraph
Party in the Park, Adderbury, Banbury | Cancelled
Party in the Park, which is held annually on the Lucy Placket Playing Field has been cancelled as the committee have said it is “no longer financially viable”.
PennFest, Penn, Amersham | No event for 2025
PennFest 2024 was been cancelled with the hope that they would return for 2025 but as yet there has been no updates.
Readipop Festival, Christchurch Meadows, Reading | No event for 2025
Readipop have announced that 2025 will be a fallow year for this small charity festival.
Redfest, Bristol | Cancelled
Redfest has been cancelled for the sixth year in a row (I mean at what point do you just throw in the towel?)
Bristol’s Redfest has been on pause since 2019 – initially due to the Covid pandemic – but was set to return this year however organisers have confirmed the event will not take place with plans to return next year instead.
Simon Webb, from the organising committee, said “a slow start” and “struggles with recruitment” meant the team was “not in the right place to deliver the event safely”.
Rewind North, Capesthorne Hall | No event for 2025.
Rewind North will not return for 2025 having essentially been made homeless. Capesthorne Hall have undertaken a review of their events and wedding business strategy and decided that, due to an upturn in demand for wedding bookings in July and August they can no longer be a home for Rewind or any large-scale camping festivals for 2025 or the foreseeable future.
Rewind Scotland, Scone Palace | No event for 2025
After more than a decade of events, Rewind Scotland organisers have announced “unfortunately Rewind Scotland would be taking a sabbatical” for 2025 with no real reasons given but I think we all know the vibe by now!
Roadhouse Weekender, Bodiam, East Sussex | CANCELLED
Roadhouse Weekender was set to be a brand new event for 2025 however, the event has now been cancelled.

Rochdale Feel Good Festival, Rochdale Town Hall Square, Rochdale | No event for 2025
Rochdale Feel Good Festival will not take place in 2025 with organisers explaining the event will now be held every other year so we should see a return for summer 2026. Tickets for the event had not yet gone on sale so no refunds are required.
Secret Garden Party, Huntingdon | No event for 2025
The Secret Garden Party, a much-loved independent event, called time in 2024 stating that “the boutique festival model has broken” – and hoping “to return next year with a party that unites several independent festivals, stages & collectives into one large rave that can offer a proper party.”
Sign of the Times Festival, Hertfordshire – CANCELLED
Sign of the Times Festival was cancelled for 2025 and looks unlikely to return for 2026.

Stone Valley South | CANCELLED
Stone Valley South has been cancelled with just a week’s notice, stating the “extremely challenging circumstances” of the current financial climate and ticket sales. They have decided to postpone the event to May 2026 calling it a “fallow year” with the intention of bringing the event back “bigger and better than ever before”. Personally I don’t think such a last minute cancellation can justifiably be called a “fallow year” – it feels more like a panicked knee-jerk reaction. Ticketholders will be contacted directly – I would be wary of being asked to hold onto your tickets unless you can comfortably afford to lose that money.

Sundown Festival, Norfolk Showground, Norfolk | CANCELLED
Sundown Festival have announced that after 12 incredible years, they are calling it a day. If you have already purchased tickets for 2025, refunds will be processed automatically through See Tickets.

Timber Festival, Feanedock, the National Forest, Derbyshire | Final Event in 2024
In October 2024, Wild Rumpus announced that it had been decided the 2024 Timber Festival would be the final chapter and as such Timber Festival will not return for 2025. As has now become a familiar trope, they explained that rising production costs, coupled with the cost of living crisis, have made it increasingly difficult to sustain the festival financially in the long term.
Underneath the Stars Festival, Barnsley | Final event in 2024
Underneath the Stars Festival have called it a day, hosting their final event in 2024.
VanWest, Taunton, Sommerset – Friday 9th / Saturday 10th / Sunday 11th May 2025 | CANCELLED

Valley Fest, Chew Lake nr Bristol | No event for 2025
Valley Fest is taking a breather in 2025 and plans to return in 2026.
Vintage by the Sea Festival, Morecambe | No event for 2025
The team behind Vintage by the Sea Festival have announced the event will not take place in 2025 blaming funding challenges and continued rising costs among other things.
It is hoped that this is not the end of the festival forever and that with the right levels of resources and funding, the event will return to Morecambe when the time is right.

Weyfest, Farnham – No event for 2025
Weyfest 2025 will not be happening. Organizers have announced that due to financial constraints and the lack of a secured venue, they are unable to proceed with the festival. They are taking time to reassess and potentially rebuild for the future.
Wilkswood Reggae Festival | CANCELLED
Wilkswood Reggae Festival, which last year hosted its seventh event at Wilkswood Farm in Langton Matravers, will not return for 2025.
The company has been placed into voluntary liquidation with bosses blaming the “current financial position” of the company. Ticket holders will be contacted.
WOMAD | No event in 2025
Womad Festival is taking a pause in 2025 ready to return in 2026 to a new site. You can read the full statement here.
