If you’re looking for a fun and exciting activity to do in Manchester, why not try your hand at crazy golf? Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a first-timer, there are plenty of options for crazy golf enthusiasts to choose from in Manchester, with both indoor courses and outdoor courses covering a range of themes.
I’ve included crazy golf centres in Manchester city centre and in the wider Greater Manchester area but if you know of somewhere I’ve missed, drop me a message and I’ll add it in.
If you haven’t play crazy golf before, let me tell you that in our experience its very much a case of luck rather than skill so don’t panic too much that you’ve not play a full 18 holes on a proper golf course, beyond knowing how to hold a golf club correctly, real life golf isn’t going to help you much here! Don’t worry about taking along your own equipment – golf balls and clubs are provided when you’re play mini golf.
Here’s are eight places to play crazy golf in Manchester:
Junkyard Golf Club, 2 First St, Manchester M15 4RP
Junkyard Golf Club offers three unique 9-hole courses, each with its own bonkers themed décor. You can choose from Pablo – a jungle-style course ‘scattered with the skulls of failed players’ obviously, or Gary – a garage-inspired 90’s rave course, or Bozo – a bizarre circus-themed course.
The venue also serves Junkyard themed cocktails and street food, so you can enjoy a night out on the town.
It’s worth noting that under 18s are only allowed in Junkyard Golf from Sunday to Thursday before 7pm (last game at 6pm). Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult with one adult supervising up to five under 18s. (You can get more details on these restrictions here).

Treetop Adventure Golf, The Printworks, Withy Grove, Manchester M4 2BS
Situated in the The Printworks, Treetop Adventure Golf is an indoor crazy golf course that takes you on a journey through a lush rainforest environment. There are two 18-hole courses to choose from: Tropical Trail and Ancient Explorer – both courses also offer a bonus 19th hole with the chance to win a free round of adventure golf.
We picked the Ancient Explorer course on our most recent visit. We were lucky enough to be the first people around the course for the day so there was no waiting around for the people in front – it also meant that we were allowed to play as a five as usually it’s a maximum of four players.
For mini golfers who prefer a calmer game, Treetop Adventure Golf offer Quiet Sessions on the second Sunday of every month. There’ll be no background buzz or strobe lightning, and even the Sacred Mask takes it down to a whisper.
Treetop Adventure Golf in The Printworks serves up pizzas, snacks and refreshments including a new range of iced drinks for the summer months.

Dino Falls Adventure Golf, Old Park Ln, Trafford Park, Stretford, Manchester M17 8PG
Where most of the places to play mini golf in Manchester are indoors, Dino Falls Adventure Golf at Trafford Golf Centre (just next to the driving range) is an outdoor Jurassic-themed 18-hole course complete with life-sized dinosaurs. There are two courses to choose from – The Rapids Course and The Volcano Course – either way you’re getting plenty of dinosaur theming and lots of fun! Make sure you dress for the weather!

Paradise Island Adventure Golf, The Trafford Centre, Trafford Park, Stretford, Manchester M17 8AA
Located inside the Trafford Centre, near the Odeon Cinema, Paradise Island Adventure Golf has two different 18-hole courses inspired by exotic destinations: the Tiki Hut Trail and Temple Ruins Adventure. The courses are suitable for all ages (the Tiki Hut Trail is wheelchair and pushchair accessible).
If you’re looking for refreshments after your game, there’s plenty of places to choose from in the Orient which is just a moment’s walk from Paradise Island Adventure Golf.

Putters Manchester, Manchester Arndale, Urban Playground Upper Mall, Manchester M4 3AQ
You’ll find Putters inside the relatively new Urban Playground space inside the Manchester Arndale, in the heart of Manchester. The Urban Playground venue is a bit of a sensory overload – the venue itself is quite dark but packed with neon lights, everything is bright, flashy and loud – I found it quite overwhelming at first but soon acclimatised.
Putters is a new breed of crazy golf using the latest tech to take your putting experience to the next level and I was really impressed when the kids had a go at this a couple of months ago. You use your putter to sign in automatically at each hole and the live scoreboards show your points – not only can you track how you’re doing against your team but also against other high scores each day to see if you’re the best crazy golf player in Manchester
You can play in groups of up to six and choose from three different themed nine-hole challenges – Chloe had a go at two of them when she went recently and found that, because it wasn’t very busy and therefore there was no queuing at holes, the games were over quite quickly.
Although the kids really enjoyed playing at Putters, I do think it’s a venue aimed more at older customers.

Puttstars, Riverside Walk, Rochdale OL16 1BE
I’ve taken the kids to Puttstars a few times now and essentially came to the conclusion on our last visit that indoor crazy golf is just a sure fire route to bickering – especially when I took them with friends in the school holidays! This is of course no reflection on Puttstars, just on my kids and their attitude to a bit of friendly competition!
Puttstars offers a choice of three courses; Zig Zag, Slingshot and Pin Ball. We’ve done two out of the three courses at Puttstars but I can’t remember which ones. I can’t say I had a particular favourite so I’d recommend just picking whichever one looks the quietest to be honest! (There’s nothing worse than hanging around at holes waiting for the people in front of you to finish – or feeling rushed by the people behind you!)
I can’t say I particularly recommend the food at Puttstars, it’s pretty basic and even the kids weren’t that impressed so perhaps best swerving that and grabbing a bite to eat elsewhere.

Lost Valley Golf – Amazonia, Market Place Shopping Centre, 24 Knowsley St, Bolton BL1 2AP
Set amidst the dense rainforest, hidden through the vines and trees (in a shopping centre in Bolton. . . ) you will discover The Lost Valley, Amazonia’s 18 hole adventure golf course.
Book your game of crazy golf at Lost Valley Golf priced at £7 per round of 18 holes per person. Discounted family tickets are also available.
Haigh Woodland Park, School Ln, Wigan WN2 1PE
Haigh Woodland Park is a little out of Manchester but definitely worth a mention as they have options for Crazy Golf – 18 holes and just £1 per person including clubs, balls and a scorecard, Adventure Golf – 18 holes of obstacles and challenges at £4.50 for children and £5.50 for adults, FootGolf – a short 9 hole course priced at £6 for children and £7 for adults and even a proper full size 27 holes of parkland golf!
Of course all of these games at Haigh Woodland Park are outdoors so do make sure you dress for the weather!

So that’s six places to play crazy golf in Manchester city centre and beyond. Whether you’re looking for an indoor or outdoor course, a themed course or a more traditional one, there’s sure to be a course on this list that suits your needs.
