Since Amy arrived in our lives last November, Dave and I have not actually had a childfree night out together. A whole year. This isn’t to say we haven’t been out of course – I’ve been to London for the MADS, Newcastle for a Hen Do, the odd cheeky evening trip to the Trafford Centre. Dave on the other hand has drunk plenty of beer with my Dad!
But time together? We’ve had the odd lunch or dinner out but we’ve always had little Miss Amy by our side. For the most part – certainly through till September this year, this was down to her still being breastfed and being a right monkey about taking a bottle. It didn’t exactly make her easy to leave. Ben and Chloe have had a few over night stays with Nana but as Amy still doesn’t really sleep through we’ve not felt comfortable leaving her.

Next weekend two of our oldest friends will finally tie the knot in a fabulous Christmas themed wedding – which is in itself very exciting and I’ve been looking forward to it for quite some time (a couple of years in fact!) Add to this the fact that Dave and I will get two whole nights away together, in a fancy hotel, with no little people to worry about and I’m almost beside myself with excitement.
Oh wowee wow! Two nights! That is such a luxury! You will drink, and talk and SLEEP!!! So jealous, I hope we get to hear all about it x
