Whether you’re a seasoned camper looking for campsite recommendations and kit updates, or a total camping noob (as the kids say) – I’ve got you covered. Our guide to camping is packed with everything we’ve written about camping to date – and is quite frankly making me want to book in as many campsites as possible for next year!
Camping Tips
I honestly used to think that the tent life wasn’t for me – that all the packing up and pitching, sleeping in a tent and being outside in all weathers didn’t sound much like a holiday at all. And then we went on a Wild Living experience at Woodsmoke. By the time we followed that up with a weekend away with Millets we realised that actually camping was very much for us – the kids love the freedom whilst Dave and I love the “enforced relaxation”.
Below you’ll find all the tips we’ve shared including choosing the best campsite to suit your needs, taking your dog camping and late season camping:

Camping Kit
Camping kit is a super personal choice – some people want to pitch up in a tiny two person tent with little more than a gas stove to make a brew, others want the full kit and caboodle to create a real home from home. Mostly we are probably the latter. I hate packing it all into the car, setting up is a bit of a faff and taking it back down again even more so – however when Dave and I look at our camping kit and attempt to streamline it, there is little we would be prepared to leave behind!
Below you’ll find a list of camping kit we recommend investing in (but believe me this is only a fraction of what we take – at some point I’ll share our full camping set up too!)

Campsite Reviews
Over the last five years, we’ve been to quite a few campsites (though around half of our camping trips have probably been to festivals). Some campsites we’ve been to more than once because we loved them so much (and because it’s easier than researching new ones!), others we just never got round to writing about so at present there’s only a handful of reviews below (five of which are in France!) but I promise to do better and write more campsite reviews soon!
