Mother’s Day falls on Sunday 7th March in 2027 which feels super early! Thus far, Mother’s Day celebrations for me are likely to include watching my son play a rugby match but if you fancy doing something special for Mother’s Day this year, I’ve pulled together a list of suggestions for you!
With the special day fast approaching, if you’re looking for something a bit different to do in Manchester this Mothers Day why not check out some of the suggestions below – some are child friendly events offering quality time with the whole family on Mothering Sunday, others are more grown up treats from a full Sunday roast (no cooking or washing up for Mum thanks!) to a traditional afternoon tea – you’re sure to find the perfect treat for you Mum in Manchester this Mother’s Day!

Mother’s Day Weekend at Reddish Vale Farm – Saturday 14th / Sunday 15th March 2026
Mother’s Day celebrations take up the whole weekend at Reddish Vale Farm this year!
Families are invited to bring Mum along for a special treat, with all mums receiving one free hot drink and cake per paying child.
Visitors can enjoy a full day on the farm with small animal handling, tractor trailer rides (£2 per rider), pony grooming sessions, and the chance to meet and feed the outdoor animals, including baby animals such as lambs, chicks, ducklings, calves and kids. There is also a large indoor play barn, outdoor adventure play with zip wires, ride-on tractors, and giant air bouncing pillows (weather dependent).

Mother’s Day Floral Arranging with North and Flower, Tatton Park – Sunday 15th March 2026
This Mother’s Day, join North and Flower at Tatton Park for a two hour floristry workshop. You will create a gorgeous floral arrangement in a vase to take home whilst learning about growing flowers for cutting and how to condition and care for your blooms.
This workshops is one for the grown ups and is suitable for beginners with no previous experience. All materials and a vase are included.
Book tickets for the Mother’s Day floristry experience priced at £80 per person (your ticket fee includes parking and entry to Tatton Park gardens).
Mother’s Day Weekend at Cockfields Farm – Saturday 14th / Sunday 15th March 2026
At Cockfields Farm this Mother’s Day weekend, mums go free . . .
Enjoy some quality family time together at Cockfields Farm with a whole range of animal activities – these are subject to change dependent on the weather and animal rest periods but include handling small animals, exotic reptile and creepy crawlies; cuddle and groom the bunnies, handle snakes, meet Boris the African pygmy hedgehog, cuddle and groom the guinea pigs, hold baby chicks, groom the donkeys, hand feed the cows and more! Don’t forget the outdoor play area, jumping pillow and, sand and water area.

Mothering Sunday Afternoon Tea, Tatton Park – Sunday 15th March 2026
Treat a loved one to a decadent afternoon tea in the Gardener’s Cottage tea room at Tatton Park this Mother’s Day. Enjoy freshly made sandwiches, mini cakes, and delicious scones all coupled with a pot of specially blended tea by Tea from the Manor, is the perfect mother’s day treat.
Mother’s Day afternoon tea at Tatton Park is priced at £39.95 per person with the option to add a glass of celebratory fizz for £5. There is limited availability for the Mother’s Day menu and this must be pre-booked – to book call 01625 374469 or fill in an enquiry form. This event sold out last year.
Don’t forget the £8 car parking charges apply at Tatton Park even for National Trust members.
Mother’s Day Lunch at Smokies Park – Sunday 15th March 2026
Treat your mother figure this mothers day to a beautiful Mother’s Day Lunch at Smokies Park with entertainment from a live singer. Mums will be treated to a glass of bubbly on arrival.
Book your special Mother’s Day lunch at Smokies – adult tickets are £30 and children’s £20.
Mothering Sunday with Manchester River Cruises – Sunday 15th March 2026
Treat your lovely mum this Mothering Sunday with an hour long cruise departing from Salford Quays with live music from Russell Shaun, performing classics like How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You), My Girl, and (Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay!

Mother’s Day 2026 at Browns Manchester – Sunday 15th March 2026
Treat mum and the family to a traditional Sunday lunch at Browns Manchester this Mother’s Day.
Alongside freshly carved roasts with all the trimmings, Browns will be serving a decadent Sunday sharing Chateaubriand, great wines, hand-crafted cocktails (I speak from experience – Browns do good cocktails!), indulgent desserts and even little roasts for the kids. And if roasts aren’t for you, Browns are also running an A La Carte menu with all your brasserie favourites.

Ah the Woodstock . . . some 25+ years ago that was our university local when we lived in Halls down the road.
This Mother’s Day at The Woodstock Arms, celebrate with a delicious Sunday Roast including a 21 day-aged sirloin of beef with a red wine jus, succulent half roast chicken, or a vegetarian nut roast – and no arguments about who has to tidy up! There’s even a celebratory glass of Moet for the mums.

This Mother’s Day, Gusto Italian invites guests to celebrate the wonderful women in their lives.
On Mother’s Day, guests can indulge in their Sunday Sharing Roast with all the trimmings. The Sunday Sharing Roast for two people includes a selection of Sirloin of Beef, Roast Chicken, Porchetta-style Pork Belly & Crackling and 3-meat ragù shepherd’s pie served with roasties, Yorkshire puddings, beef fat carrots, cauliflower in a carbonara sauce, greens, braised red cabbage and a jug of gravy.
