65 things to do in the Manchester area this Easter [2026]

Last year saw an abundance of Easter events in Manchester with lots of fun things to do and many of the usual Easter egg hunts in Manchester and the surrounding area back to their former glory. Easter 2026 sees a continuation of this and I’ll be keeping this post updated with information about Greater Manchester attractions hosting Easter activities for 2026 as it becomes available. (I’ve also included activities that are not specifically Easter-themed but are just things to do in Manchester during the Easter holidays)

[I am updating this post regularly with suggestions of things to do in Manchester for Easter 2026 as information and reviews become available but do check with individual venues!]

Easter 2026 falls right at the start of April: Good Friday – 3rd April 2026 and Easter Sunday – 5th April 2026. Traditionally the Easter holidays fall one week either side of the Easter bank holiday weekend however lots of authorities go for the first two weeks of April off as standard so do make sure to check with your school!

Easter Adventures at Lyme – Saturday 21st March to Sunday 12th April 2026

This Easter at Lyme, put on your wellies and take part in the National Trust Easter Trail at Lyme.

Hunt colourful wooden eggs, big and small in Lyme’s garden trail this Easter and complete the challenges and activities along the way.

The price of the Easter Adventures in Nature trail is £3.50 per child and includes a trail map, pencil and a chocolate egg. The Easter trail at Lyme doesn’t need to be pre-booked however are only available while stocks last. Normal admission charges apply.

Easter Adventures at Dunham Massey – Thursday 26th March to Sunday 19th April 2026

This Easter at Dunham Massey, take part in the National Trust Easter Adventures Trail. Make your way along the trail and find ten fun activities to try.

The trail takes place between Thursday 26th March and Sunday 19th April, from to 10am – 4pm, within the beautiful park and gardens at Dunham Massey.

The price of the Easter trail is £3.50 per child and includes a trail map, pencil and a chocolate egg. The Easter trail doesn’t need to be pre-booked however are only available while stocks last. Normal admission charges apply.

Easter holiday fun at RHS Gardens Bridgewater – Friday 27th March to Sunday 19th April 2026

Become an Easter Detective and help rescue the Easter Bunny at RHS Garden Bridgewater in Salford.

No booking is required for this event – normal garden admission applies (free for members!)

Easter Egg Hunts at Quarry Bank – Saturday 28th March to Sunday 12th April 2026

This Easter at Quarry Bank, take part in the National Trust Easter Adventures Trail. Make your way along the trail and find nature-inspired activities for the whole family. The trail takes place between Saturday 28th March and Sunday 12th April, from to 10.30am – 5pm, within the beautiful surroundings of Quarry Bank.

The price of the trail is £3.50 per child and includes a trail map, pencil and a chocolate egg.

The Easter trails don’t need to be pre-booked however are only available while stocks last. Normal admission charges apply.

Lambing Week at the Farm, Tatton Park – Saturday 28th March to Sunday 5th April 2026

Visit The Farm at Tatton Park this Easter holidays for Lambing Week! Farm staff will share their expertise with visitors, giving informative talks at the lambing shed. Learn how they spot the signs of lambing and how they look after sheep and care for lambs during this extra special time.

Standard farm entry applies for this event – National Trust members are entitled to free garden entry however entrance to Tatton Park Farm is not included. Entrance to the Tatton Park Farm is charged on top and do bear in mind that additional parking charges apply at Tatton Park too – this is currently £8 per vehicle!

Book Lambing Week at the Farm tickets here priced at £8 for adults and £6 for children. Family tickets are also available. You can save 10% by booking online three days in advance.

Easter Adventure at Cockfields Farm – Saturday 28th March to Sunday 12th April 2026

Through the Easter holidays, Cockfields Farm are hosting their Easter Adventure. This year’s event features an Easter egg hunt and lots of baby animals to meet (as well as the chance to bottle feed the lambs at an extra charge) making it the perfect spring day out!

Book tickets for Easter Adventure Cockfields Farm priced from £7.95 per person if you can jump on the early bird price! Cockfields Farm is a cashless venue.

Easter at Smithills Open Farm – Saturday 28th March to Sunday 5th April 2026

Let’s be fair, there is no better time to visit Smithills Open Farm than in the spring with plenty of baby animals to see, hold and feed, it’s one of our favourite places.

This Easter, Smithills Open Farm are holding an egg hunt (priced at £4.50 per child on top of standard farm admission) – the hunt includes an Easter egg or Easter soft toy for each child participating. Make sure you find the Easter bunny and Easter chick for a cheeky photo opp too!

Tickets for the Easter Egg Hunt at Smithills Open Farm are priced at £4 per child and must be booked alongside standard farm admission.

Diggle Scarecrow Trail, Diggle – Saturday 28th March to Sunday 12th April 2026

Take an adventure up into Saddleworth and follow the Diggle Scarecrow Trail – trail maps cost £3 and it’s always great fun (though I recommend avoiding rainy days – our trail map was destroyed by heavy downpours one year so we ended up giving up fairly early and didn’t see most of the scarecrows!) The 2026 Diggle Scarecrow Trail theme is “Disney”.

The Diggle Scarecrow Trail maps are usually collected from local shops such as Grandpa Greenes but I’ll update with more details as the become available.

Easter Fun at Reddish Vale Farm – Saturday 28th March to Monday 6th April 2026

This April, Reddish Vale Farm are hosting their famous Easter Egg Hunt once more! There are different Easter Egg hunt challenges depending on how old you are – but every child will be entitled to an Easter egg if they complete the hunt! There’s even the chance to claim a special prize if you find the golden egg – one is hidden each hour.

As well as the Easter Egg Hunt there will be all the usual Reddish Vale Farm fun including small animal handling, a chance to meet the baby animals, tractor rides and outdoor adventure play. (Make sure you treat yourself to a Grandpa Greene’s ice cream while you are there too!)

Tickets for the Reddish Vale Farm Easter Egg Hunt must be pre-booked online. Tickets are priced at £13.50 for adults and £16.50 for children (including an Easter egg) which I’m pleased to say remains the same as last year.

Miffy Welcomes Spring, Tatton Park – Saturday 28th March to Sunday 19th April 2026

This spring, follow miffy into the Gardens, where little explorers can search for springtime surprises on a scavenger hunt, play games and discover the sights, sounds and smells of the season. Meet miffy’s farmyard friends as you help her prepare for a special Easter picnic before heading inside the Mansion to see what Easter treasures miffy has found! A joyful spring adventure for the whole family with Easter chocolate rewards.

Book tickets for miffy Welcomes Spring – entrance is free for National Trust members but otherwise varies depending on which areas of Tatton Park you choose to access. Parkland entrance is charged at £8 per vehicle regardless.

Clay Play at Ordsall Hall – Monday 30th March / Monday 13th April 2026

This Easter at Ordsall Hall, try your hand at making some weird and wonderful creations in clay!

Tickets for this event must be pre-booked and are priced at £3 per child. Slots are held hourly at 11am, 1pm and 2pm: Monday 30th March | Monday 13th April

Easter Chick Hunt at Ordsall Hall – Monday 30th March to Thursday 16th April 2026

There are 8 chicks hiding out at Ordsall Hall this Easter holidays – can you find them all?

The trail costs £2 per participating child. No booking is required.

Make a Sleepy Bag at Ordsall Hall – Tuesday 31st March 2026

This Easter at Ordsall Hall, learn how to make a “sleepy bag” from herbs the Tudors would have used to help them get to sleep.

Tickets for must be pre-booked – this event is priced at £1.50 per person. Slots are held hourly at 11am, 1pm and 2pm.

Tudor Life at Tatton Park – Wednesday 1st April 2026

This Easter holidays, you are invited to step back in time at the Old Hall to experience what life was like for people living in Tudor times.

Your guides from the past will invite you into their home, share stories and ask for your help with a number of important tasks. But be aware…a valuable item has recently gone missing and the culprit is yet to be found!

This event is most suitable for families with children aged 7-11 years old.  (The Tudors are a popular topic in Key Stage 2!)

Gandeys Gandeys K-Pop Dragon Circus, Trafford Centre – Thursday 2nd to Sunday 19th April 2026

Our Kids Social Presents: Good Fridaze at Freight Island – Friday 3rd April 2026

Our Kids Social are back at Freight Island this Easter Bank Holiday weekend from 1.30pm – 3.30pm on Good Friday for an Easter Family Social.

With top music, hands-on creativity, an Easter trail and all your fave workshops and of course some ace food and drink vendors to top it all off – this will be top way to start the Easter weekend!

Easter Boomchikkaboom Family Rave! at Kargo MKT – Friday 3rd April 2026

With good music and BIG energy, expect dance routines, singing, pom poms, parachute mayhem, bubbles, snow machine and more! Some people say your social life ends when you have children, Boomchikkaboom says, it’s only just begun!

This event is aimed at 0-10 years however all ages are always welcome.

This event is free to attend but you must pre-book your space. Everyone needs a ticket for this event.

Heaton Park’s Big Egg Hunt, Heaton Park – Friday 3rd to Monday 6th April 2026

The Easter Bunny has locked away the Heaton Park eggs for safekeeping and has forgotten the code! Join Detective Duckling and hunt for clues around the park, crack the code to the chest and unlock a chocolate egg.

The Stanley Square Big Dino Egg Hunt, Stanley Square, Sale – Friday 3rd April to Saturday 11th April 2026

Millions of years ago… the dinosaurs hid their eggs to keep them safe. Now the eggs have reappeared around Stanley Square and the Dino Keepers need help finding them before they hatch!

Find all the eggs and match them to the dinosaurs. Complete your trail sheet, dino tracker card and trivia questions for an Easter treat at the end!

Peter Rabbit Family Fun Day at Bury Transport Museum – Friday 3rd / Saturday 4th April 2026

Ah I have such a soft spot for Peter Rabbit – Chloe absolutely adored him when she was little! This Easter weekend, Peter Rabbit will be paying a special visit to Bury Transport Museum – and will be around to say hello and entertain visitors at intervals throughout the day. There will be even more family fun at Bury Transport Museum this Easter weekend with theme park rides, face painters and craft activities.

Easter Egg Paddle Hunt at Hollingworth Lake Activity Centre – Friday 3rd April 2026

The Easter Egg Paddle Hunt returns to Hollingworth Lake Activity Centre this Easter weekend offering you an Easter egg hunt with a difference!

You will set off on your Easter adventure in a bell boat for a guided paddle hunt around the lake to seek out hidden Easter treasures. All hunters will receive a chocolate Easter egg for their efforts (you are asked to advise of allergies / intolerances when booking).

The Quays Duck Race at Salford Quays – Friday 3rd April 2026

The 9th annual Quays Duck Race returns this Easter Bank Holiday weekend. Head down to the quays on Good Friday to raise money for MedEquip4Kids and enjoy a whole host of family fun.

Join in the festivities from 12.30pm at the Salford Water Sports Centre and enjoy family friendly entertainment, a range of food stalls, fairground rides and a tombola. Don’t forget to pre book your duck for the Quays Duck Race. Ducklings cost just £3 and can be purchased in person on the day, or online.

Easter Egg Hunt at Dino Falls Adventure Golf – Friday 3rd to Tuesday 19th April 2026

This Easter at Dino Falls Adventure Golf, join in the Easter Egg Hunt by taking pictures of the hidden Easter characters around the course and claim a sweet treat at the end of your round.

Between Friday 3rd and Tuesday April, one child goes free with each paying adult on adventure golf rounds booked to play before 10am. Book now to avoid disappointment.

Hebden Bridge Duck Race – Monday 6th April 2026

A little out of Manchester, and strictly into West Yorkshire if we’re being fussy, is the little town of Hebden Bridge (of Happy Valley fame amongst others!) Easter Monday sees the return of the annual Hebden Bridge Duck Race organised by the Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge. The Hebden Bridge Duck Race is a long standing tradition – there are two races on Easter Monday – the main race and then a business race. Hebden Bridge is a gorgeous place for a wander with lots of lovely independent shops and cafes. Parking can be a bit of a pain so if you can get the train I would recommend it.

Egg Box Wreaths at Ordsall Hall – Tuesday 7th April 2026

This Easter at Ordsall Hall, get creative with egg boxes and make a fabulous Easter wreath.

Viking Life at Tatton Park – Tuesday 7th April 2026

Become one of Harald’s Shield Warriors or Shield Maidens and learn about Viking history and their way of life, through an engaging workshop and series of hands on activities in the atmospheric surroundings of Tatton Park’s ancient Old Hall. Are you brave enough to join the Vikings?

This event is most suitable for families with children aged 7-11 years old.  (The Vikings are a popular topic in Key Stage 2!)

The Wizarding Adventure on East Lancashire Railway – Thursday 9th April 2026

Are you ready to attend your first day at the Grand Old School of Wizardry? This Easter holidays, join the East Lancs Railway for a spellbinding adventure of wizard themed activities and photo opportunities!

Food and drink will be available to purchase from the café on Platform 3/4 at Bury Bolton Street Station and from the Rawtenstall Buffet.

Lamb Feeding Season at Lancaster Park & Animal Farm – April and May 2026

• Lamb feeding will not take place during the Easter holidays this year as the lambs are not ready.

Join the team at Lancaster Park & Animal Farm for lots of family fun this Easter. With opportunities to bottle feed baby lambs (an additional cost), see the baby goats, pet baby chicks, feed the animals on the Nature Walk and pet small animals from the Petting Barn as well as riding the Caterpillar barrel ride (weather dependent) or driving a mini quad on the Rooster Rally!

Tickets can be pre booked online and will incur a 50p per person booking fee. Tickets are priced at £7.50 for adults and £7.50 for children / free for babies under 12 months. You can pay on arrival to but this is cash only, Lancaster Park & Animal Farm don’t have the facilities to take card payments. Lamb feeding costs £3 a bottle purchasable on the day (do make sure you have cash with you for this).

Family Fun Fair at Daisy Nook Country Park – Dates TBC

Enjoy all the fun of the fair as Silcocks bring their fair back to Daisy Nook Country Park this Easter holidays. With over 150 rides and attractions, this is one of the largest fun fairs in the North West. Open from 1pm to 6pm daily.

The Crystal Maze – Easter Egg Hunt

The ultimate Easter Egg Hunt is on! Families can explore The Crystal Maze in search of hidden eggs, with a prize for every one discovered. Each egg unlocks a delicious chocolate egg or even a Cadbury’s Crème egg cocktail. The Crystal Maze is also offering 50% off all family ticket packages, for all aged 9+.

The Louby Lou Clown Show at Kargo Mkt – Friday 18th April 2025

This Easter, join Louby Lou at Kargo MKT for her electrifying clown show – expect slapstick comedy, puppet shows and even some groovy disco dancing and a magical saxophone performance.

Story Seekers: Chocolate & Rationing IWM North – Friday 29th March to Sunday 14th April 2024

This Easter, explore the IWM North collections with a special chocolate-themed edition of Story Seekers, a free and interactive family activity.

Discover how chocolate was rationed so it could be distributed fairly, and how it was used to boost the morale of Britain’s troops. Learn about food shortages, rationing and how ‘digging for victory’ helped feed the country.

Get hands on with real artefacts, explore the galleries and complete the Story Seekers trail to receive a chocolate reward!

Easter Funfair at Heaton Park – Easter 2026 TBC

Michael Mulhearn has been running funfairs for more than thirty years. His events are a familiar fixture at Heaton Park and offer a selection of attractions, from candy floss and catering kiosks, to white-knuckle rides and a full selection of fairground favourites from just £2. The funfair will put a smile on everyone’s face!

Easter Disco Pool Party at Middleton Arena, Rochdale – Easter 2026 TBC

Join the Easter Bunny for a party with Mini Me Time – ticket prices include a picnic bag, party games and time with the Easter bunny for the children and a hot drink and snacks for the adults.

Treetop Nets Easter Egg Hunt, Zip World, Heaton Park – No details for Easter 2026 as yet

The information below relates to a previous event and will be updated as soon as information becomes available.

This Easter at Zip World, Heaton Park you can take your Easter egg hunting to a whole new level with an energetic aerial egg hunt high in the trees. Enjoy burning off some energy on the giant aerial trampolines whilst searching for the 19 wooden Easter bunnies hidden in the trees. As a reward, instead of chocolate eggs (let’s face it, we all get plenty of those anyway), Treetop Nets will be giving a much greener and more sustainable prize of a Treetop buff, Treetop woven badges, Treetop stickers, a Nets certificate, and a discount card to use for a future visit.

This April at Moss Bank Park, there are plenty of goodies to make including a willow egg decoration and a pair of bunny ears, which will be perfect for when little ones take part in an egg hunt, where they can search the Hive for their goodies! There will be games to enjoy and of course a campfire and tasty treat at the end of the session.

Easter Adventure Trail at Haigh Hall Woodland Park – No information for Easter 2026 as yet

The Easter Bunny needs your help at Haigh Hall Woodland Park this Easter – there has been a disaster at the Easter Egg Factory and a vital cog from the magical Easter Egg Machine is missing!

Meet Charlie the Chick; the Easter Bunny’s personal assistant and chief health and safety officer at the Easter Egg Factory. Charlie will take you on a journey around the woods to meet a number of interesting characters along the the trail as you go on an adventure to solve the mystery of the broken machine.

Tickets for the Easter Adventure at Haigh Hall Woodland Park are available to book online priced at £4 for adults and £6 for children – there are discounts available for families and under 2s go free.

Easter Bunny Breakfast at Dobbies Garden Centre, Altrincham | Permenantly Closed

Hop along to the restaurant at Dobbies Garden Centre in Altrincham for a tasty breakfast for the whole family before the little ones take part in some Easter fun with the Easter bunny!

Children will follow the bunny on a hunt around the store and enjoy some fun games.  Plus, the bunny and the team (both experts in all things wildflowers) will help them plant their very own miniature wildflower meadow to take home and grow in the garden!

This special Easter event is suited to families with children aged 3-10 years old (though younger children can take part with support). Families will be seated and served at their own table.

Book your Easter Bunny Breakfast – menu choices are made at booking and prices vary.
